    The public is welcome to attend the “1800s Living History Weekend” featuring Civil War re-enactors and demonstrations showing military and civilian life of the Civil War Era.

    Crossroads at Big Creek will continue offering programming and educational opportunities throughout August. August 14 from 1:30 – 3:30 pm, “Belgian Day at the Village” will take place at the Historical Village.

  • Light Up the Baileys Harbor Rangelights

    The Baileys Harbor Rangelights have been welcoming visitors to The Ridges area since 1870 – long before the sanctuary was officially established in 1937.

  • Sister Bay Star Gazing Party Reschedule for Aug. 13

    Due to cloudy skies Saturday, Aug. 6 the Star Gazing Party in the Sister Bay Sports Complex has been rescheduled for August 13. Attendees are welcome to bring their own telescope or peek through others’.

  • Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal Nature Preserve

    The Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal Nature Preserve, 445 acres within the city limits of Sturgeon Bay, is as ecologically diverse as it is beautiful. On the eastern portion, three historic lighthouses and the entrance to the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal can be seen from the preserve’s Lake Michigan shoreline.

  • Classic and Wooden Boat Show in Sturgeon Bay this Weekend

    The Door County Maritime Museum is building off the “Boats, Books & Brushes” theme it introduced two years ago at this year’s Classic and Wooden Boat Festival as it continues to broaden its appeal beyond the collection of interesting and stunning vessels it attracts each summer.

    The Kewaunee Chamber Maids will be the featured attraction at the parade kicking off the St. Louis Parish Summer Festival at 11 am on July 31 on the church grounds in Dyckesville.

  • Jacksonport Hosts Cherry Fest August 6

    Jacksonport will host the annual Cherry Fest on August 6, sponsored by the Jacksonport Historical Society. The 17th annual event will take place in Lakeside Park.

    At 421 acres, the Harold C. Wilson Three Springs Nature Preserve is the largest purchase ever made by the Door County Land Trust. When the Land Trust purchased the property in 2008, it represented the largest conservation project in Door County in over 40 years.

    The first images I thought of upon hearing the words “adventure rafting” included a raging river, an inflatable raft, helmets and paddles.     Crossroads at Big Creek will continue offering programming and educational opportunities throughout July. July 24 from 1:30 – 3:30 pm the Crossroads will feature “Walking Sticks” and “Father Tony’s Famous Chickens” in the Historical Village.

  • Lautenbach Orchard of Door County Hosts Annual Summer Harvest Cherry Fest

    Lautenbach’s Orchard Country Winery & Market will host its 7th Annual Summer Harvest Cherry Fest on July 23 from 10 am – 5 pm. Attendees will enjoy complimentary tastings of Orchard Country wines, local micro brews and farm market foods – featuring the popular tart Montmorency cherry.

  • Peninsula State Park of Door County Hosts Cemetery Walk

    The public is welcome to join Peninsula State Park Naturalist Kathleen Harris on July 30 from 10 – 11 am at Blossomburg Cemetery. Created for older children and adults, attendees will discover the people and places of the Door Peninsula including Charles Lesaar, Julia Duclon, Vida Weborg and many more.
