Overheard and Shout Outs: April 8, 2015

OVERHEARD

Are there tid-bits of conversations you’ve heard while standing in line at the grocery store, serving a table, or walking down the sidewalk that make you smile, cringe or laugh out loud?

“I like all these things: old people, yoga, drinking.”

“I been into girls since K-4!”

“You don’t have to use turn signals if you live in Baileys Harbor, everybody knows where you are going to turn.”

“Her singing is like a dying moose in the middle of breeding season.”

“Do you want the truth or support?”

“I unliked it so I could click like again.”

“You will never do anything if you procrastinate.”

SHOUT OUTS

Is there someone or something that deserves a pat on the back or a slap on the wrist?

Here is a shout-out to two Baileys Harbor favorites who are moving on from their positions: Jeanne Majeski at the library and Dianne Zirbel at the post office. Both of these ladies are so knowledgeable, welcoming and cheerful, and they will be sorely missed by the community!

In honor of National Poetry Month, here is a pat on the back to all of the peninsula’s poets!

A shout-out to the poll workers from the April 5 election. Thank you for your time and service.

A pat on the back to the individuals and organizations planning events for Earth Day in Door County!
