Overheard and Obsessions: Feb. 10, 2017

OVERHEARD

Are there tid-bits of conversations you’ve heard while standing in line at the grocery store, serving a table, or walking down the sidewalk that make you smile, cringe or laugh out loud?

“That’s why I dumped and ran.”

“One of my worst fears is accidentally eating a pot brownie.”

“Probably good the baby doesn’t have his genes. They wouldn’t fit since she’s a baby and he’s an adult.”

“Is that your sugar daddy or your actual dad?”

“I’m already dragging [butt] just thinking about going back to work tomorrow.”

“I didn’t know that F-150s were amphibious now.”

OBSESSIONS

Is there anything you can’t stop thinking about, listening to, watching, eating, or drinking? Obsessions are meant to be your of-the-moment fixation.

Brookside Dark Chocolate Acai and Blueberries

White Cedar Trail in Peninsula State Park

Bomba Estéreo – Soy Yo (Official Video) on YouTube.

The new Netflix series Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events. Excellent theme music (is that Lemony Snicket on accordion?) Great cast. Beautifully – sometimes breathtakingly – shot. And plenty of word play, as expected from teleplay writer David Handler.

Tom Hardy in Taboo

Yahtzee!

The rare glances of February sunshine

Hitting the slopes

Butter of peanut (also known as peanut butter)
