OVERHEARD

Are there tid-bits of conversations you’ve heard while standing in line at the grocery store, serving a table, or walking down the sidewalk that make you smile, cringe or laugh out loud?

“Sniff this one dry.”

“It’s nice from the front but the sides are institutional.”

“Kids – they think they’re human or something.”

“Jason has a nice thumb hole but it’s too wide.”

“I channeled my inner drag queen.”

“I’ve got my headphones on, listening to this documentary about their relationship while working, trying to convince myself to be happy for them.”

“That was one very loud vegan.”

SHOUT OUTS

Is there someone or something that deserves a pat on the back or a slap on the wrist?

Shout-out to holidays for bringing family together.

Shout-out to south wind at the end of November for the weird, warmish weather it brings!

Shout-out to flannel in all its glorious design forms.

A pat on the back to folks who pick up litter when they’re out and about.

Slap on the wrist to 50- and 60-degree days. You had your time. The earth is not tilted in your favor. Give Frosty a chance, and be back again someday.
