Overheard and Shout Outs: March 23, 2018

OVERHEARD

Are there tid-bits of conversations you’ve heard while standing in line at the grocery store, serving a table, or walking down the sidewalk that make you smile, cringe or laugh out loud?

“You’re not sensitive. You’re just a big baby with gray hair.”

“I just try not to be promiscuous with my hugs.”

“I’m sympathy cringing for you.”

“Why are they friends now? Wasn’t it enough to just not be enemies?”

“That’s a good shot – you can see the sparkle in the unicorn’s eye.”

“I got called Jackie again. I guess the nameplate doesn’t help.”

SHOUT OUTS

Is there someone or something that deserves a pat on the back or a slap on the wrist?

A hardy shout-out to Ron Lang, who submitted “A Former Teacher’s Opinion on School Shootings” in the March 9, 2018 edition of the Pulse. My thoughts exactly. – Sharon Thill

Shout-out to the return of the sandhill cranes, pelicans and everything else representing warmer weather!

A slap on the wrist to people whose Christmas lights, wreaths and fake light-up snowmen are still on display. You know who you are!

A pat on the back to Door Artisan Cheese for their well-deserved gold win at the World Cheese Championship. You make Wisconsin proud!
