Overheard & Shout Outs: Nov. 30, 2018

OVERHEARD

Are there tid-bits of conversations you’ve heard while standing in line at the grocery store, serving a table, or walking down the sidewalk that make you smile, cringe or laugh out loud?

“At this time of year I just want to wear a Vaseline suit.”

“Geppetto looks like Sophia from The Golden Girls.”

“I’ve got problems. Are you just becoming aware of this?”

“He looks like a husband from a maxi pad commercial.”

“I don’t know if we want a homemade jade roller.”

“All of my life lessons come from an Oprah Winfrey episode.”

“You just had doughnut fall from your eyebrow.”

SHOUT OUTS

Is there someone or something that deserves a pat on the back or a slap on the wrist?

A big shout-out to the Peninsula Symphonic Band and Community Choir of Door County for their Veterans Day Concert, Nov. 12, at Prince of Peace Church. Great music, great performance.

Shout out to the Village of Sister Bay’s parks workers, and business owners, for putting up the great displays of Christmas lights throughout the village.

Slap on the wrist for impatience. Standing in lines is a part of shopping – especially around the holidays – and nobody is above the inconvenience of waiting.
