Overheard & Shout Outs: Oct. 19, 2018

OVERHEARD

Are there tid-bits of conversations you’ve heard while standing in line at the grocery store, serving a table, or walking down the sidewalk that make you smile, cringe or laugh out loud?

“Sometimes you have to be told that you can’t ride that donkey up a mountain.”

“Do you think she’ll be receptive to diapers?”

“No worries, we’re just drinking office coffee.”

“They make everybody wear beige.”

“I don’t want to bring down her chakra power.”

“I think there’s a bearded heart named Kevin on TV.”

“You mean bearded dragon?”

SHOUT OUTS

Is there someone or something that deserves a pat on the back or a slap on the wrist?

Shoutout to the Wisconsin Humane Society for rescuing animal victims of Hurricane Florence.

A slap on the wrist to a certain Fall Fest parade-goer who angled her double stroller in front of a group of kids watching the parade. Strollers aren’t barricades; don’t use them as such.

Shoutout to Write On, Door County and all the sponsors who helped bring the U.S. Poet Laureate Tracy K. Smith to the county for a reading.
