Overheards and Pet Peeves

OVERHEARD
Are there tid-bits of conversations you’ve heard while standing in line at the grocery store, serving a table, or walking down the sidewalk that make you smile, cringe or laugh out loud?

“What if…rainbows cure cancer?”

“Is this mountain bike trail bumpy?”

“I like making out a lot.”

“It’s the name of the dragon in the book I’m reading.”

Question from a wife: “How tall is that bluff?” Husband’s response: “Oh, it’s at least 1,000 feet tall.”

PET PEEVES

Is there something that really irks you, gets your goat, rubs you the wrong way, drives you up the wall, gets you bent out of shape, puts a stick in your craw, or makes you want to throw in the towel?

“People who decide they’ll save a couple bucks on a family meal by tipping a server less than 15%. We make $2.33 an hour, friends! When you go out to eat, please include the tip in your budget. When you get great service, consider leaving an extra dollar or two. A little kindness goes a long way.” ~ Anonymous

“People who don’t recognize that the speed limit on Highway 42 & 57 between most villages in Northern Door is 55mph! Going too slow can be just as dangerous as going to fast!” ~ Anonymous

“People who don’t replace an empty water jug on the watercooler…it’s just like the roll of toilet paper! It’s not that hard to figure it out.” ~ Anonymous
