OVERHEARD
Are there tid-bits of conversations you’ve heard while standing in line at the grocery store, serving a table, or walking down the sidewalk that make you smile, cringe or laugh out loud?

“I’m going to do an interpretive dance about Fall Fest in my front lawn.”

“A bunt is a big deal.”

“Is it cool to like the Goo Goo Dolls?”

“I have a very vivid vision of The Hansons at the Vatican.”

“The hospital won’t let young kids visit?! Don’t they know that’s bad for business.”

“Unless you wanted to wear a turtleneck for the rest of your life, why would you do that?”

SHOUT OUTS
Is there someone or something that deserves a pat on the back or a slap on the wrist?

“Shout out to all the power company, public service and tree company employees (and any others) that did such a monumental task in getting Door County back under power! Amazing work. And, how about all the hardy souls that showed great spirit and made the best of the challenge? Thanks to all.” ~ from everyone visiting or living in Door County last weekend

PET PEEVES
Is there something that really irks you, gets your goat, rubs you the wrong way, drives you up the wall, gets you bent out of shape, puts a stick in your craw, or makes you want to throw in the towel?

“The use of ‘thru’ to mean through in anything other than a text message. Okay, maybe even in a text message!”

“Cold season and all that goes with it – running nose, itchy throat.”

“Gigantic spiders in my sink and mice in my ceilings. Thank God for the manly men of Door County who help a girl out!”
