Paint the Town

Artwork by Karen Shanahan.

The Door County Art League (DCAL) Gallery celebrates the charm of the Door County towns that dot the countryside and punctuate the shoreline with the Paint the Town exhibit. Scheduled for June 21 – 27, the art show coincides with Fyr Ball in Ephraim. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Featured artists include Barbara Timmerman, Karen Shanahan, Beverly Hart Branson, Penny Pfister, Jon Reddin and Polly Joubert. According to Gale Ritchey, director of the gallery, “Most everyone agrees that much of the charm of Door County comes from the distinctive personalities of its tiny towns. Seems like everyone has their own favorite. In this exhibit you’ll see picturesque renditions of those favorite towns as well as the street scenes, cafes, gardens and shops that our traveling artists have memorialized in their art and photography.”

The DCAL gallery displays original 2-D and 3-D artwork from 23 DCAL member artists. The gallery, located in the rear courtyard of the Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek, is open 11 am to 5 pm every day except Wednesday, and from 11 am to 3 pm on Sundays. For more information visit
