Painting Meets Sculpture in Peninsula School of Art

Peninsula School of Art is presenting a free exhibit, 2.5 D: Breaking the Surface, June 4 – July 17 to highlight the work of 10 regionally and nationally recognized artists who are exploring the intersection of painting and sculpture.

Mary Ellen Sisulak of Ellison Bay stretched leather over a manipulated wood panel to form the surface of her large-scale painting “Rebirth.” Atlanta-based painter and mixed-media artist Kevin Cole created painted, layered and looped pieces of cut tar paper for “Crossing Jordan I.” Brooklyn-based artist Anne Muntges blends 2D and 3D worlds with graphite and pen drawings on wood panel, board and paper.

The exhibit is open Monday – Saturday, 8 am – 5 pm, at 3900 Cty F in Fish Creek. The school’s campus is under construction, so follow the signs to enter the gallery. Learn more about this exhibit and other programs at
