Paintings Explore Washington Island

“The Beauty and Spirit of Washington Island,” the opening show at the Art and Nature Center, will feature the oil paintings of Sonja Noonan. Through this show, Noonan will lead one on a journey through various idyllic landscapes of Washington Island, including farm fields, various lake scenes, featuring monarchs and wildflowers.

Noonan retired to Washington Island full time in 2004. She graduated with a major in art from DePauw University in Greencastle, North Carolina. She has taken classes and private lessons from the Art Institute in Chicago and has taught both private and public art classes for adults and children in Indiana and Illinois.

The show will be on display into the first week of August along with the art of other Washington Island artists. The Art and Nature Center is located at 1799 Main Road. For more information call 920.847.2025.
