Paper Birds Deluxe Debuts at Gould Theater

On Aug. 29, 2 pm, the folk supergroup Paper Birds will take the stage at Northern Sky’s Gould Theater in Fish Creek. Led by songwriters Katie Dahl and Claudia Russell, Paper Birds also includes Dahl and Russell’s partners, Rich Higdon and Bruce Kaplan. The group will be joined by Memphis multi-instrumentalist Eric Lewis, a first-time-ever configuration the band is calling Paper Birds Deluxe.

Vocalists/guitarists Dahl and Russell write the bulk of the band’s songs. Their eclectic folk/blues/jazz sensibilities are enhanced by Kaplan on mandolin and guitar, Higdon on upright bass and percussion, and Lewis on guitar, mandolin, Dobro and more. Paper Birds will play new songs and fan favorites, joining each other on harmonies and instrumental accompaniment. 

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in advance at katiedahlmusic.com. Concert organizers are selling only 50% capacity of tickets in order to allow for social distancing. Face masks are required.
