Parallel 44 Earns Best of Show Honors at Cold Climate Competition

Parallel 44 took home Best of Show honors for top white wine with La Crescent at the annual International Cold Climate Wine Competition on Aug. 16 in Saint Paul, Minn. This year’s competition included nearly 300 wines from commercial wineries in 12 states and Canada. Along with Best in Show, Parallel 44 tallied seven medals, one for every wine they entered in the competition.

Along with La Crescent, other Parallel 44 wines receiving medals included Frontenac, Glacier Red, Glacier White, Rosso, Late Harvest St. Pepin and Petite Pearl.

“You don’t make wine, you grow wine,” said Parallel 44 owner and winemaker Steve Johnson. “When you taste wine grown from this part of the world here in northeast Wisconsin, you’re tasting how the soil and climate create very unique and nuanced flavors.”

Parallel 44 is located at N2185 Sleepy Hollow Road in Kewaunee, and Door 44 is located at 4020 Highway 42/57 in Sturgeon Bay. For more information visit Parallel44.com.
