Be Part of the “Growing Older in Door County” Conversation

DiscussDCThis spring and summer, the Door County Community Foundation is holding Neighborhood Conversations as part of Growing Older in Door County. This fall, the Community Foundation will convene a countywide assembly of both year-round and seasonal residents drawn from these conversations to shape our community’s ultimate vision and common aspirations for growing older in Door County.

“We’d like to add your voice to the community conversation about growing older in Door County. We need volunteers to host structured Neighborhood Conversations so we can listen to as many residents as possible,” said Bret Bicoy, president and CEO of the Door County Community Foundation. “We’ll provide trained volunteer conversation leaders to guide your discussion, but we need folks like you to invite your friends, neighbors, colleagues or clients to participate.” Each Neighborhood Conversation takes about 90 minutes and works best with 12 to 15 people. The group can gather in a living room, place of business, favorite charity, or a public place like a library or community center. The Community Foundation is available to assist you with the logistics of hosting your conversation. To get started, contact Christine Henkel at 920.746.1786 or [email protected].

If unable to host a Neighborhood Conversation but would like to offer your thoughts, visit DiscussDoorCounty.org to download the Home Discussion Guide and lead your family and friends through a conversation on your own.
