Pastels and Photographs

“Car Light” by Dianne Saron.

The Door County Art League (DCAL) Gallery, Fish Creek, presents the artwork of Dianne Saron and Jim Rossol for July 4 – 10.

Saron enjoys painting directly on paper with pastels because “it offers a great hand to medium experience.” She loves to experiment with different paper surfaces and boards. Most of her art pieces begin with an acrylic or watercolor underpainting, which she uses to establish her values. Her paintings have won awards at the Fairfield Art Museum and DCAL Showcase exhibit. She is a member of the Peninsula School of Art gallery committee, the Hardy Gallery and Miller Art Museum.

Rossol is a fine art photographer who has won awards in the Around the County photo contest and the Peninsula Pulse Hal Prize competition. He has been juried into exhibitions at the Peninsula School of Art and the Hardy Gallery. Rossol’s photographs depict his interpretation of his visual world using either representational or abstract approaches. He has published a book, County Fair Flavor, a Photographic Essay.

The DCAL gallery is open daily 11 am to 5 pm (3 pm on Sundays), and is located in the rear courtyard of the Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek. More information is available about the gallery, upcoming exhibits and DCAL’s monthly meetings at doorcountyartleague.org.
