Pat McCurdy Back for One Night Only

Do you want to party? Do you love the green and gold? Do you know all the lyrics and dance moves to “Sex and Beer”? Well, you’re in luck because Pat McCurdy will return to the county for one night – Sunday, Aug. 8, 6 pm – to perform at the Cherry Hut, 8813 Hwy 42 south of Fish Creek.

McCurdy, whose songs have been described as “good drinking music,” is a Milwaukee-based musician who performs in a variety of genres. Comedy songs, ’80s mashup medleys, a song called “Chokin’ the Gopher” – he does it all.

And, he’s no stranger to Door County, having played every Tuesday at the English Inn during the early ’90s. It’s been a bit since he’s been back, but he’s really looking forward to it.

“I’m extremely excited to get up there,” McCurdy said, “because – and this’ll sound crazy, but – there’s a certain way the air smells in Door County, and it’s pretty much only there, and I can’t wait. It’ll be like déjà vu.”

If you know McCurdy, you probably already love him. Just watch any YouTube video of a performance, and you’ll hear his voice being drowned out by a crowd that knows every lyric to every song. If you don’t know him yet, check him out at the Cherry Hut, prepare to have a good time – and, McCurdy said, get ready to sing in public.
