Patchouli Presents “New American Folk” at MDCMC Concert

On July 21 at 7 pm, the duo Patchouli will play Ministry Door County Medical Center’s (MDCMC) “Celebrate Community” concert.

Nationally touring, award-winning songwriter Julie Patchouli and master guitarist Bruce Hecksel light up the air with sparkling acoustic sounds and their powerful contagious chemistry. Patchouli’s down-to-earth, hopeful songwriting is “new American folk” blending elements of folk, pop, flamenco and jazz with world beat rhythms.

Sixteen years of non-stop touring has honed this classically trained duo into legendary performers, dubbed “the hardest working folk duo in America.” Patchouli is as busy in the studio as they are on the road, with 12 albums featuring their very own brand of original modern folk music and 5 CDs under the name Terra Guitarra, their all-instrumental guitar project.

Terra Guitarra’s Dragonfly debuted at number four on the ZMR World Music Radio Charts and was Nominated ZMR Best Instrumental Acoustic Album of the Year 2013.

All “Celebrate Community” concerts are free of charge and take place on the hospital green space on 16th place in Sturgeon Bay. For more information, contact 920.493.5979. In case of rain all concerts will be held upstairs at the Door County Fire Company 38.S 3rd Ave. Sturgeon Bay (former Ladder House).
