The Ridges Offers Stargazing Opportunities

On July 28 at 7 pm, author and avid amateur astronomer Paul Kinzer will present a short program based on his book, Stargazing Basics: Getting Started in Recreational Astronomy, as part of The Ridges’ Lake Lessons series. Paul will give an indoor introduction to the night sky and the equipment used to see it. Binoculars, telescopes and other equipment will be used to introduce adults and youths to the hobby. Lake Lessons programs are held at The Ridges Nature Center, 8166 Hwy. 57 in Baileys Harbor. Admission is free.

See the night sky during the day! On July 29 at 11:30 am, 1 pm, 2:30 pm, and 4 pm Paul Kinzer will bring his portable planetarium to show us the stars, rain or shine. The sun, moon, and a variety of constellations are just some of the things we will discover. Meet at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall, 2392 Cty F. Limit 35 people per session. Advanced registration is recommended by calling ahead. $13/adult for Ridges members, $15/adult for the general public, $10/under 18.
