PBS Wisconsin Education Has Released Video on Wisconsin First Nations

PBS Wisconsin Education has released a new Wisconsin First Nations-focused digital video exemplar, Wisconsin First Nations Exemplar Featuring David O’Connor

The video is part of a collection of authentic and accurate pre-K-12 educational and educator-focused Wisconsin First Nations professional-development resources. The series features stories from Wisconsin educators who excel at teaching American Indian studies and want to help other educators do the same. The resource is available for free online access at wisconsinfirstnations.org.

In the video and accompanying essay, David O’Connor presents his vision for First Nations education in the state and offers the expertise he’s gained from working in education and as a member of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. O’Connor is the American Indian studies consultant at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
