Pedestal Honors Firefighters

The Liberty Grove Historical Society is closer to completing a new pedestal to honor Sister Bay/Liberty Grove first responders after John Wilz of Hi Tec Fabrication in Sturgeon Bay partnered with Linda Wilkinson of the historical society in her design of the structure that will display a medallion recognizing this particular section of the walkway. The medallion will be placed when it’s completed.

The First Responders Memorial, which became part of the Heritage Walkway in 2018 and is located next to the Veterans Circle of Honor Memorial on the Liberty Grove Historical Society grounds, was dedicated as part of the Heritage Walkway in 2021. 

Members of the historical society want this memorial to be a place to thank all first responders, past and present.
They thank Weis Monument Company, Andy Franke, Pat Boilini and Dave Westen for their valuable contributions, and a special thank-you goes to Linda Wilkinson, chair of the Veterans Memorial and Heritage Walkway, for her tireless dedication to the project.
