Peg Egan Performing Art Center’s Sunset Concert Series Features Willy Porter

Willy Porter, distinctive guitarist and songwriter, will take the stage at the Peg Egan Performing Art Center’s Sunset Concert Series on June 24 at 7 pm.

How To Rob A Bank, the latest CD release from Porter, showcases his continued growth as a songwriter and recording artist. Porter offers tracks that move easily from rough-hewn electric edges into soulful irony with equal aplomb.

Having toured with artists as diverse as Jeff Beck and Tori Amos, Porter capitalizes on his experience as a seasoned live performer. Each song on the album is a fresh cross-pollination of styles, genres and musical forms.

How To Rob A Bank also includes a deep supporting cast of musicians that Porter has toured with for years. Raining Jane, a folk/rock quartet, bring vocal harmonies, cello, sitar and percussion to the disc. Other artists to join him are Reggie Hamilton, Natalia Zukerman, and his backing band, which includes Dave Adler, Steve Kleiber, and Dave Schoepke.

The Peg Egan Center is an outdoor amphitheater located on Church Street in Egg Harbor. All concerts are free and open to the public. In case of rain, concerts are held at the Calvary Methodist Church, located at 4650 County Rd E in Egg Harbor.
