Pen Park Features Irish-themed Programs March 17

Pen Park will tell the “Legend of the Wild Swans” on March 17.

Peninsula State Park will host various programs throughout St. Patrick’s Day on March 17. All programs are free and open to the public, but a state park vehicle sticker is required.

The Nature Center will be open from 10 am – 2 pm. From 11 – 11:30 am, the center will host “Legend of the Wild Swans,” introducing listeners to this Celtic folk tale. The program will also teach participants about Wisconsin swans and lead them on an Irish-themed hike through the meadow to look for “snakes” banished from Ireland.

From noon – 1 pm, a St. Paddy’s Campfire will take place near the Nature Center. Attendees can cook up some traditional Irish Colcannon using pudgy pie irons. Food and pie irons will be provided. Donations will be appreciated. If there is rain, the campfire will be canceled.

The Nature Center will be closed March 25 – 31. For more information call 920.868.3258.
