Pen Players Closes 77th Season with “Lombardi”

Vince Lombardi’s return to northeast Wisconsin in Eric Simonson’s Lombardi is about to come to an end as Peninsula Players Theatre closes its 77th season with a 4 pm matinee on Oct. 14. America’s oldest professional resident summer theatre held 106 performances of five different plays in its 77th season. Lombardi is based on the best-selling biography When Pride Still Mattered: A Life of Vince Lombardi by Pulitzer Prize-winning author David Maraniss.

Lombardi has been an exciting play to present in northeast Wisconsin,” said Artistic Director Greg Vinkler. “It really is an event for those familiar with Vince Lombardi’s legacy and the Green Bay Packers. Patrons wear green and gold in support of their favorite team. It is also thrilling to see people who know little about football enjoying this great piece of theater too.”

Lombardi is performed nightly at 7 pm, except for a 4 pm matinee on Oct. 14. Ticket prices range from $33 – $39; discount tickets are available for groups of 15.
