PenArt Calls Artists to Wonderland

Creative adventure awaits all artists of any media in the Artists in Wonderland exhibition, to be held Jan. 9-23 at Peninsula School of Art in Fish Creek. Artists of every skill level are invited to submit both 2-D and 3-D work not larger than 8” in any dimension − including framing or other display needs − on Jan. 7 and 8 only. Pieces must be hand delivered.

A single entry fee of $25 entitles an artist to submit up to three works. The fee also provides entry to the School’s inaugural Mad Hatter’s Ball on Jan. 23, 6 – 9 pm. The display of small-scale works in Artists in Wonderland is paired with large-scale pieces created during the ball by art teams comprised of six members. Adults not participating in the exhibition may attend the ball by purchasing a $15 ticket.

Artists in Wonderland artists will be awarded cash prizes, bestowed by the Mad Hatter himself, at the ball. The First Place award is $150. Second Place is awarded $100 and Third Place receives $50. Best Costume and Art Team events and awards, along with lively entertainment and adult concoctions add to the excitement of the evening.

Art created for Artists in Wonderland need not follow the theme of the book Alice in Wonderland, by Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (aka Lewis Carroll). Additional information regarding the Mad Hatter’s Ball and its art teams will be released in the upcoming weeks. For more information call 920.868.3455.
