Peninsula School of Art opens its doors to learners of all ages this summer with two new offerings that require no previous experience: Try-It Programs and Family Drop-In Fridays.
“We recognize that stepping out of one’s comfort zone – especially [for] those who are brand-new to art making – can be daunting,” said Catherine Hoke, the school’s executive director, “but we believe everyone has the potential for artistic expression, and these new programs are a great way to start your own creative journey.”
The Try-It Program allows first-timers to experiment with ceramics and printmaking in the studio. The three-hour classes, offered throughout the summer and fall, will focus on basic techniques. Tuition is $40 per PSA member and $45 per nonmember. A program on screen printing, monoprinting and throwing on the wheel will be held July 6.
Family Drop-In Fridays are designed to introduce children and family members of all ages to the processes, materials and ideas associated with a different medium that will be featured each week. Tuition is $15 per person; no reservations are needed.
