Peninsula School of Art (PenArt, PeninsulaSchoolofArt.org) invites community members to submit artworks to What We Make: Peninsula School of Art Community Showcase. An opening reception will be held Feb. 13, 4-6 pm; and the exhibition will close March 28.
To be eligible, submitters must have participated in an Open Studio, Teen Workshop, Critique Group and/or Family Art Day program since September 2019.
Artists may submit a maximum of three pieces that were created in 2018, 2019 or 2020; are no larger than 48 inches in any dimension; weigh no more than 75 pounds; and are ready to hang if two-dimensional. Frames and canvases must have wires. Unframed works on paper will be hung with magnets. Wall-hanging sculptures must have appropriate hardware.
Eligible submitters should take their works to the Guenzel Gallery on Feb. 6-7 and pick them up March 31 – April 3. Any work not picked up by 5 pm on April 3 will become the property of PenArt.
PenArt will retain a 20 percent commission on the sale of works. Checks will be mailed within two weeks of the exhibition’s close. PenArt reserves the right to photograph all exhibited work and use the images for publicity purposes. Loaned items will be insured under PenArt’s fine-art policy between Feb. 6 and April 3 for the amount specified on the entry form. Coverage is limited to damage or loss that occurs at PenArt and while in its custody. PenArt reserves the right to not exhibit artworks.
