PenArt Keeps Creativity Flowing during COVID-19 Pandemic

Although the Peninsula School of Art (PenArt) campus is closed to the public at least through April 19, it’s offering new initiatives that will be (mostly) virtual.

On Fridays, PenArt will post a family- and kid-friendly art project on social media with all of the instructions needed to complete the project. Local families may do a drive-by pickup of free art kits – with instructions and all of the supplies needed to complete the project – on a first-come, first-served basis at the PenArt entrance beginning at 10 am on Fridays.

Aspiring artists are also encouraged to participate in a weekly Creative Challenge: a prompt or exercise to help you keep creating. Challenges will be posted on social media on Thursdays.

On Tuesdays, PenArt will host virtual gallery tours, demonstrations and videos for art appreciators; and Mondays will be devoted to beginners and those who are curious about getting started in making art.

Follow PenArt on Facebook and Instagram to participate. The school will also compile posts and activities into emails for those who are not on social media.
