Peninsula Chamber Singers Announce New Season

Peninsula Chamber Singers, the well-known Door County choral group featuring local talent, have announced their 2009 fall rehearsal and concert schedule. The first rehearsal, with a coffee and dessert get-together beforehand, is planned for Monday, September 28 at 6 pm.

The group has been performing popular, classical, and jazz music for Door County and Northeast Wisconsin audiences since 1980. Singers from all walks of life who have previous choral experience performing in a mixed voice setting are invited to join the Peninsula Chamber Singers. The coffee/dessert gathering will welcome new and present members, and rehearsal will follow from 7 – 9 pm.

Merle Colburn, with over 30 years of experience as teacher and director, will return as Artistic Director of the Chamber Singers. Accompanying the singers this year is pianist David Beck, who performs extensively as a soloist and accompanist.

Rehearsals are scheduled for Monday evenings, September 28 through December 7, as well as an additional rehearsal December 11.

The Holiday Concert will be performed December 12 at 7 pm at the United Methodist Church in Sturgeon Bay, and December 13 at 3 pm at the Fish Creek’s Door Community Auditorium.
