Peninsula Dog Training Offers Behavioral Seminar

Ron Maloney of Peninsula Dog Training

Ron Maloney of Peninsula Dog Training announces a Dog Training and Behavioral Seminar to be held on June 21, at Frontier Wilderness Campground in Egg Harbor. The three-hour seminar for owners and their dogs is open to the public and will look at training philosophies and methods. The seminar will be divided into two parts. The first half will focus on common behavioral issues such as excessive barking, running away, aggression, and jumping, with emphasis on how to prevent unwanted behaviors. The second half will be devoted to “real life” obedience goals including walking calmly on leash, stay, and go to place. Maloney will use representative dogs from the class to illustrate training methodologies.

Maloney has over 30 years’ experience in training dogs in obedience, tracking, and protection. He has owned and trained seven dogs, including a Norwegian Elkhound, Doberman Pinscher, German Shepherd, and several Rottweilers. His dogs have earned 18 American Kennel Club obedience and tracking titles. He has taught obedience classes, has served as Training Director for a number of dog training clubs in the Midwest, and is a popular presenter at Learning In Retirement classes in Sturgeon Bay.

The cost of the seminar is $30 per dog/handler team; half of the registration fee will be donated to the Door County Humane Society. For more information contact Ron Maloney of Peninsula Dog Training at 920.559.6386 or Todd at Frontier Wilderness Campground at 920.868.3349.
