Peninsula Music Festival’s Chamber Music Series Continues Feb. 15 and 22

Peninsula Music Festival’s (PMF) Chamber Music Series will continue Feb. 15 and 22, 2 pm, at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church in Ellison Bay.

Wenckus
Self

The Feb. 15 concert will feature Susanna Self on flute and Susan Wenckus on piano. Self is an active chamber musician and orchestral flutist who is also PMF’s principal flutist. Wenckus pursued graduate studies in accompanying and was an official accompanist for the ARD Voice and Instrument Competition in Munich. She is a freelance pianist in the Fox Valley area.

Choi

The Feb. 22 concert will feature the Stellio Trio. Recognized for her virtuosity and distinctive musicality, violinist Yoorhi Choi moved to the United States when she was invited to study with Dorothy Delay at the Juilliard School at age 15. She is an active soloist and chamber musician in the United States and South Korea and has earned top prizes at numerous competitions.

Byun

Cellist Andrew Byun is a Canadian cellist studying with Hans Jorgen Jensen at Northwestern University and has worked with many quartets. In 2015, he won first prize at the Boston Trio Competition and the Gershwin International Music Competition.

Joo

Pianist Hyejin Joo came to the United States in 2011 to pursue her education and became an associate instructor upon entering Indiana University. She earned her master of music degree with a full scholarship and is currently a doctoral candidate at Northwestern University.
