Peninsula Players Cancels 2020 Summer Season

Peninsula Players Theater has canceled its 2020 summer season.

According to a message sent to fans and supporters, the theater’s board of directors and its management team examined a variety of scenarios, “and have concluded that the health and safety of its company, volunteers, and community must take precedence over all else at this time.”

It is their intention to welcome all to the theater this autumn for a fall production. They will continue to monitor the global crisis diligently and will send updates once final decisions have been made.

In the next few days Pen Players will be reaching out to all ticket holders and will be offering several options as we navigate this unexpected terrain, so please check your email, social media and our website for further information in the days ahead.

In an open letter to the community and Pen Player supporters, Greg Vinkler and Brian Kelsey wrote, “While our natural instinct entices us to entertain and uplift you during these difficult times, we must consider our future together and make difficult decisions so that when we do regather, we are all here together … with no one missing. Although we are apart, we plan to remain engaged with you as we continue to share Peninsula Players Pastimes to lift your spirits.”

This news follows Northern Sky Theater also deciding against having a summer season.
