Peninsula Players Theatre (peninsulaplayers.com) has announced its 2022 season of The Play’s the Thing, the winter play-reading series it presents at Björklunden. Advance registration is required for the free readings, and the in-person capacity will be limited to 80 patrons. A virtual option will also be available for each reading.
First up is Kodachrome, by Adam Szymkowicz, on Feb. 7, 7 pm. In this a tender and funny comedy, Suzanne, the photographer in a rural New England town, gives audiences a glimpse into the lives of her neighbors one romance at a time. This play about love, nostalgia, the seasons and how we learn to say goodbye is produced with support from and in coordination with Door County Reads. This reading will be held virtually only.
Also plan to attend a yet-to-be-announced reading on March 7 and A Rock Sails By by Sean Grennan on April 4.
In-person attendees will be required to be fully vaccinated (including eligible boosters) and wear a mask at all times while in Björklunden and throughout the performance. Staff members will check proof of vaccination, photo ID and tickets at the door. No walk-ins will be allowed.
