Peninsula Players Launches New Scholarship

Peninsula Players Theatre (PPT) is launching a scholarship for Door County high school seniors who will pursue a college major or minor in arts management, music or theater. PPT will award a $500 scholarship this spring to one student at each of the five Door County high schools. Last spring, PPT and its board of directors created the Outstanding Student Award to recognize graduating high school students across the county for their achievements in and enthusiasm for the performing arts, and to support the performing-arts career paths of those students.

“The board of directors is thrilled to provide five scholarships to students wishing to further their education in the performing arts beyond high school,” said Brian Kelsey, Peninsula Players’ managing director.

Scholarship applicants must plan to enroll as a full-time college or technical-school student with an intent to major or minor in arts management, music (performance or education), or theater (acting, theater studies, theater technology and design). Applications are available through the Door County Community Foundation, are due by March 8 and should be sent to [email protected]. To learn more, visit doorcountyscholarships.org.
