Peninsula Players Offers Virtual Readings

Peninsula Players Theatre’s winter play-reading series – The Play’s the Thing – will be offered virtually this year, with fully cast play readings available to stream for one night only on Feb. 1, March 1 and April 5, all at 7 pm. Admission to each online event will be limited to 300 households, and online ticket registration is required. The streams will be free, but donations are appreciated.

To attend, patrons will log on or create an account in the theater’s online ticketing system to reserve access to each reading. Tutorial videos about creating an account and accessing the play readings are also available on the theater’s website and YouTube channel.

The first offering will be the world premiere of a new audio play, The Dust of Death: Neil Brookshire’s adaptation of Fred Merrick White’s science-fiction short story, The Dust of Death: The Story of the Great Plague of the Twentieth Century. A horrific plague descends on London, inevitably spreading and causing great turmoil. This show will be produced in coordination with NEA Big Read: Door County.

Bell, Book and Candle by John Van Druten is slated for March 5, and the play selection for April 5 has yet to be finalized. Learn more and register to watch at peninsulaplayers.com.
