Peninsula Players Opens 75th Season with “Heroes”

Peninsula Players Theatre located in Fish Creek opened its 75th Anniversary Season June 15 with the premiere of Gérald Sibleyras’s Heroes, translated by Tom Stoppard. The show, featuring Player’s veterans Greg Vinkler, Tom Mula, and Tim Monsion, will run until July 4.

Set in 1959 France, the play centers on three World War I veterans living in a retirement home for military personnel. Gustave, Philippe, and Henri have staked their claim on a small terrace and plot their great escape from Sister Madeleine’s mundane routine. The diverse friends inspire one another to explore what lay beyond the home.

Directing Heroes is Karen Sheridan, who also directed Is He Dead? and Rumors. Sheridan has performed in many plays for Players, as well as productions in the Chicago area.

Curtain times for Heroes are Tuesdays through Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 7:30 pm, except the closing performance on July 4 scheduled for 4 pm. Group and individual tickets are available. Individual ticket prices range from $29 to $36. For more information or to reserve tickets, call 920.868.3287 or visit http://www.peninsulaplayers.com.
