Peninsula Players Present “Sunday Seminars”

Peninsula Players’ “Saturday Seminar Series” will continue into the fall with two new seminars in September and three more in October.

Players’ actor Erica Elam will lead the September 18 seminar on Improvisation. Elam has a rich background in theatrical improvisation. As an improviser, she has performed with The Second City, iO, Annoyance, and The Comedy Shrine, and recently completed an Off-Broadway run with the critically-acclaimed musical improv group, Baby Wants Candy. The Chicago Tribune recently named Elam one of the “Top 5 Actors to Watch.”

On September 25 the Players will present a screening of The Best of Times, a documentary by Players actor Tim Monsion featuring the 75-year history of Peninsula Players. Players’ archivist and veteran Audra Baakari Boyle and Players’ Development Director Alan Kopischke will both be on hand to discuss and answer questions about Peninsula Players’ history.

Three more seminars will be held in October, with topics still to be announced, but likely to include a discussion with Panic playwright Joseph Goodrich and an exploration of cabaret performances.

All seminars will be held from 2:30 – 4 pm in the Rehearsal Hall. Seminars and are free, but require advance reservations.
