Peninsula Players Presents “A Little Night Music”

Peninsula Players Theatre continues its 75th season by performing Stephen Sondheim’s and Hugh Wheeler’s lavish and sophisticated musical, A Little Night Music, July 28 through August 15.

“We are very fortunate to be able to get the rights to do this musical while it is still running on Broadway,” Players Artistic Director Greg Vinkler said of the Tony award winning show. “When selecting plays for the 75th season I considered A Little Night Music a valentine to our audience.

“Sondheim’s sophisticated and stylish musical is a great fit for our theater in the woods. The story centers on summer nights spent under the stars where romance blossoms and fades between six couples whose love-lives have gone off track.”

Based on Ingmar Bergman’s comedic film Smiles of a Summer Night, A Little Night Music is set in a weekend country house in turn-of-the-century Sweden. The summer night enchants the guests, inspires long simmering passions to come to life and brings the taste of love’s endless possibilities to them.

Curtain times for A Little Night Music are Tuesdays through Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 7:30 pm, except the closing performance August 15 at 4 pm. Group and individual tickets are available. Individual ticket prices range from $29 to $36; there are no performances on Mondays. For more information or to reserve tickets call 920.868.3287 or visit http://www.peninsulaplayers.com.
