Peninsula Players Theatre has received a Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board in the amount of $8,000: the maximum amount an organization can receive.
The grant is made possible with additional CARES Act funding from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). As a form of emergency support, it recognizes the extreme difficulties that arts organizations are facing due to the pandemic.
In April 2020, the Wisconsin Arts Board created an emergency-relief program for Wisconsin nonprofit arts organizations that had been forced to cancel exhibitions, concerts, plays, readings, films, outreach programs and fundraising events. Many of these organizations expect a decline in charitable contributions from corporations, foundations and individual donors.
