Aaron Sorkin’s riveting courtroom drama A Few Good Men opened July 27 for a three-week run at Peninsula Players Theater. Sorkin is a recent Oscar-winning writer of The Social Network.

A Few Good Men follows the absorbing story of deception and conspiracy at high levels of the military. An inexperienced member of the Navy Judge Advocate Generals’ Corps (JAG Corps) squares-off against top brass in an attempt to defend two Marines, Dawson and Downey, who are accused of murdering one of their own in an allegedly ordered hazing incident.

Directed by Kimberly Senior, the play features Lee E. Ernst as Jessep, Matthew Brumlow as Kaffee, and Karen Janes Woditsh as Galloway.

Additional cast members include Andrew Keltz, Joe Foust, Sean Fortunato, Tim Monsion, Kevin McKillip, Tom Mula, and James Leaming.

Making their Players debut as the defendants are Osiris Khepera and Derek Knabenbauer. Also new to the Players stage is Arthur Luís Soria as the victim, Pfc. Santiago.

Ensemble roles are held by Matthew Fayfer, Chris Gonyo, Nicholas Osenberg, Jason Szmanda, Michael Trudeau, and Mitch Weindorf.

The design team includes set designer Jack Magaw, lighting designer Charles Cooper, sound designer Victoria DeIorio, costume designer Pamela J. Rehberg, and properties designer Sarah Burnham.
