Peninsula School of Art Announces Gallery Salon Winners

On a snowy, blustery night a large crowd gathered to celebrate the closing of Peninsula School of Art’s 2013 Guenzel Gallery Salon. The annual event, which took place Jan. 19, featured over 300 pieces of art by over 100 artists, complimentary appetizers and wine, and live music by singers/songwriters Jess Holland and Nick Hoover.

Cash awards were presented to the winners of the People’s Choice Awards. Over 350 ballots were cast – Renee Hilgers of Baileys Harbor received first place for her multi-media sculpture, “Alchemy Fields;” Kyle Martin of Reedsburg received second place for his oil painting, “The End of Season;” and Liz Heller of Egg Harbor received third place for her photograph, “Underwater Flowers.”

Peninsula School of Art, located at 3900 County Road F in Fish Creek, is open Monday through Saturday, 8 am – 5 pm.
