Peninsula School of Art Faculty Members Honored

“Starlet, 1963,” by William Schneider.

Shelby Keefe and William Schneider, 2011 summer faculty members at the Peninsula School of Art in Fish Creek, have recently been recognized for their work.

Schneider’s painting, “Starlet, 1963,” will be featured in an article entitled “Anatomy of a Painting” in the June 2011 issue of The Pastel Journal. This is the third time that William’s work has been featured in the national magazine. Schneider will teach an oil and pastel portrait workshop in August at Peninsula School of Art.

Shelby Keefe has been named the next artist in residence at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee. One of six finalists, Keefe was chosen through public voting. A selection committee consisting of Milwaukee art experts made the final decision.

In addition to teaching a plein air workshop in September, Keefe will also participate as a featured artist in the Door County Plein Air Festival in July and the “30 Paintings, 30 Days” exhibition in the Peninsula School of Art’s Guenzel Gallery, opening in November.

Peninsula School of Art, open Monday through Saturday from 9 am – 5 pm, is located at 3900 County Road F in Fish Creek. For more information, call 920.868.3455 or visitwww.peninsulaartschool.com.
