Peninsula School of Art Hosts Art Contest at Family Day

Peninsula School of Art will host a Youth Arts Sampler and Art Contest for its final Family Day of the school calendar on Saturday, May 16, from 10 am – 2 pm at the School, 3900 County Road F, Fish Creek.

The Family Day, which is free and open to the public, invites young and old to try a variety of 2- and 3-D media. Immediately following the event will be a judging of work from four age groups for prizes and awards. The age groups are:  3.5 – 5 years old, 6 – 8 years old, 9 – 12 years old and 13 – 17 years old.

According to Peninsula School of Art executive Director, Cathy Hoke Gonzales, Family Day has been an important part of the School’s community outreach in recent years.

“Coinciding with our mission to provide quality arts education, Family Day opens the opportunity for people of all ages within our community to experience the benefits of creative expression at no charge,” she says.
