Peninsula School of Art Hosts Family Day on May 15

Peninsula School of Art in Fish Creek will host an “art sampler” for its final Family Day of the school calendar on Saturday, May 15 from 10 am – 2 pm. The event is free of charge and includes prizes.

Taking its theme from the school’s current exhibition, “Medium is the Message,” this Family Day invites all ages to work in a variety of 2-D and 3-D media. Immediately following the creation of works, participants between the ages of 3 and 12 will receive prizes for their participation.

Family Days are scheduled the third Saturday of every month during the school year. The next Family Day will be held in September.

According to Peninsula School of Art Executive Director, Cathy Hoke-Gonzales, Family Day celebrates creative collaboration within the family, while underscoring the educational theme of the school’s current gallery exhibition.

“Family Days and our gallery exhibitions work together to promote understanding and appreciation of the visual arts,” she says. “Both programs are free of charge and encourage artistic expression for all ages.”

Peninsula School of Art is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the visual arts through education, exhibitions and community outreach. The school and Guenzel Gallery are located at 3900 County Hwy F, in Fish Creek. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 9 am – 5 pm. For more information visit http://www.peninsulaartschool.com.
