Peninsula School of Art Hosts Family Day

Norse mythology and a celebration of fall are the themes for the October 16 Family Art Day at Peninsula School of Art in Fish Creek. The walk-in art program, which takes place from 10 am – 2 pm, is free and open to families with children ages three to 17.

Those interested in making tempera paintings of Norse mythological subjects will first tour the school’s current exhibition, “Norse Mythology, the Muse,” to read banners printed with ancient Norse myths. The display of regional and local artists’ interpretations of the stories will also serve as inspiration for projects.

Clay will be available for those interested in creating relief tiles. Natural elements, like leaves and twigs, found on the Peninsula School of Art campus, may be used to create tile designs.

Family Art Days are held the third Saturday of the month, September through May. Family Art Days are sponsored by a grant from the Target Corporation.

Peninsula School of Art is located at 3900 County Road F, Fish Creek. For more information call 920.868.3455 or email [email protected].
