Peninsula School of Art Hosts Gingerbread Bash

Peninsula School of Art will host its first Gingerbread Bash on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 6-9 pm.

“Everyone in Door County worked so hard this summer,” said Catherine Hoke, the school’s executive director. “We took care of our visitors, clients and customers; now it’s time for us to have some fun.”

The we-made-it-through-the-season/pre-holiday party is open to anyone 21 and older. Peninsula School of Art, 3900 Cty F in Fish Creek, will provide cardboard gingerbread house forms, candy and decorating supplies, and food and beverages will be served.

The gingerbread creations will be on display through Family Art Day on Nov. 20, and People’s Choice awards will be given for the best house and other categories.

Attendees may arrive as a team of four to eight people, or join one when they arrive. No advance registration is required, but proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for all attendees. A suggested donation of $10 per person is appreciated. All proceeds will benefit the school’s outreach programs, which provide free and accessible arts experiences to 3,500-plus Door County children and families annually.

Peninsula School of Art will also be collecting items for the U.S. Marines’ Toys for Tots program. Look for the collection bin at the entrance to the school’s Guenzel Gallery until Dec. 11.
