Peninsula School of Art Opens Studios to Members

Peninsula School of Art is providing its members with an artist’s home away from home – namely the school’s well-appointed studios.

The studios will be open to artists of all media, Monday through Saturday, 9 am – 5 pm, with expanded hours on Wednesday nights until 8:30 pm, from November 2 through December 9. (On November 25 the school will be closed due to the Thanksgiving holiday.)

The Art School will be charging a fee of $15 per day, or $75 per week for the use of studio space and specialized equipment, including: jewelry/metals equipment, darkroom facilities (the chemistry is a member’s responsibility), etching press and Hollander paper beater. Artists are required to be competent with the equipment they plan to use, as there is no formal instruction provided.

Use of the painting and drawing studios does not require prior notice. But, in order to have equipment set up, advance registration is required for the use of other studios.

Community Clay continues as a part of the school’s open door policy for members, with facilitators Renee Schwaller (Wednesday evenings October 7 through December 9, 6 – 8:30 pm) and Roger Bergen (Thursday evenings, October 8 through December 10, 6 – 8:30 pm). The cost of Community Clay is $12 per evening (excluding clay).
