Peninsula School of Art Presents 12th Annual Salon

Stoneware by Felice Birmingham.

In true Parisian Salon fashion, the Peninsula School of Art adorned the walls of their Guenzel Gallery floor to ceiling with of pieces of art by artists hailing from near and far, long-established Door County artists including fiber artist Wendy Carpenter, woodturner Lou Williams, and potters David & Jeanne Aurelius as well as up-and-coming Door County artists including painter Ryan Miller (also a talented member of the Pulse team if I do say so myself), photographer Justin Anderson, and potter Felice Birmingham. That’s just skimming the surface.

The exhibit is a colorful, stimulating affair that had me circling the gallery not once or twice, but thrice.

The Peninsula School of Art will host a Salon Party on Jan. 18 from 6 – 9 pm, featuring refreshments and live music by Nick Hoover and Jess Holland. (For those who are more musically inclined than artistically – Hoover will host an open mic from 7 – 8 pm.) Attendees will also have the opportunity to vote for the ‘People’s Choice Awards’ and purchase their favorite pieces.
