Peninsula School of Art Releases 2010 Summer Studios for Young Artists Catalog

Peninsula School of Art is featuring a new curriculum format for the just released 2010 Summer Studios for Young Artists catalog. For the first time, the theme for each week concentrates on a single two or three-D medium, with age appropriate applications for students aged 3 1/2 to 17. Workshops are scheduled Monday through Thursday, with Fridays reserved for a new offering, “Relate and Create,” a morning workshop designed to foster collaboration and creativity between generations.

Since the founding of the Peninsula School of Art in 1965, artist educators have been offering programs to Door County’s resident and visiting youth through the Summer Studios for Young Artists program. The focus of arts education in both theory and practice has been maintained throughout the school’s history. In addition to traditional media, such as clay or painting, the school also offers youth workshops in animation, cartooning and large- scale sculpture that is traditionally displayed along the 4th of July parade route in Baileys Harbor.

The 2010 Summer Studios for Young Artists catalog is distributed through the mail to all Door County residents, is also available online at http://www.peninsulaartschool.com, or at the Peninsula School of Art, 3900 County Road F, Fish Creek. Registrations are now being accepted. Scholarships are available.
