The Summer Studios for Young Artists program at the Peninsula School of Art in Fish Creek will begin Monday, June 21, with age-appropriate workshops for students ages 3 to 17.
This year, each week focuses on a single medium. Monday through Thursday offers instruction in painting, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, or cartooning and animation. The only exception is a week traditionally dedicated to the creation of the School’s Fourth of July Baileys Harbor parade entry.
New for 2010 is the Friday morning “Relate and Create” program. This half-day workshop facilitates multi-generational, collaborative art activities.
Maggie Banks of Sturgeon Bay will be the 2010 Studio for Young Artists intern, providing assistance to youth arts educators. Banks is a printmaker and a 2008 graduate of the Milwaukee School of Art and Design.
The School and Guenzel Gallery, located at 3900 County Hwy F, Fish Creek, is open Monday through Saturday, 9 am – 5 pm. For more information visit http://www.peninsulaartschool.com.
